Stuffed Bunny and Lots of Layers

Hello everyone,
The new Mood Board and Challenge #25 is now up at SumMore Fun/ Victorine Originals and it sure is a pretty one.  I will have a link below, so please make sure to go over and check out the rest of the Design Teams projects, they are fabulous, and join in the fun!  So let's talk about my card and what I did....

I fell in love with the colors and that is where my inspiration came from.  I found a pretty piece of tan card stock and made a square card base by cutting it to 5" x 10" and scoring at 5".  I then cut down a piece of pink card stock to 4 3/4" x 4 3/4" and glued that direct into the top folding card base.  I then cut down the yellow card stock to 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" and glued that down.  I then took the cute Stuffed Bunny from Victorine Originals and stamped him onto a piece of white card stock with Hot Chocolate Ink and colored him in with Copic Markers, then fussy cut him out and touched up the cut edges with a dark chocolate ink pen.  I then cut a stitched circle with a die from my stash into the center of the top blue card stock layer and glued the Bunny on the underside to have him peeking out.  I then glued the blue layer down onto the yellow layer.  For the final added touch I took the Candy Gum Drop stamp (74210-A) and stamped two at the top and three at the bottom, then with a Micron Pen I messily drew lines around the edge as a type of frame then drew in some hash marks.  This card took me out of my comfort zone as I used a lot of layers and then hand drew the frame.... even though I wanted it to be messy, it was still scary.  I have to say though that I love what turned out and am quite happy with this card.
I have links below for the products used and the Mood Board, come play with us and another close up of my card.  Also, if you use HEATHER10 at check out you can save 10%.

Wild About Spring (and Ewe)!

Hello everyone,

It is my day to take over the blog at SumMore Fun and I pulled out one of my all time favorite stamp sets from Raisin Boat that is not just for Valentine's Day.  My card today is just so pretty in real life but very hard to photograph with even the best camera due to FOIL.... yes, foil!  I believe this card would work for spring, Easter, congratulations, thinking of you or even a new baby, but please let me know what you think in the comments.  So lets get started....

I started by taking  Neenah Solar White card stock cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and liberally applying some reactive spray all over, I used a shoe box to keep the mess down to a minimum as this spray goes everywhere.  I sprayed, drew lines and splattered the reactor liquid onto the card stock and then set it aside to set.  When it was tacky I ran the card stock each through my laminator with Mint colored foil.  I then took the Wild About Ewe, Honey stamp set and used the adorable Ewe stamp and stamped onto Neenah white card stock with MFT Black hybrid ink.  I used 2 shades of Copic markers in Neutral grays to color the body and 2 shades of skin tones to do the face.  When I was done coloring, I fussy cut the image out leaving a small white border.  This stamp is fairly easy to fussy cut and took hardly any time. I then took a small stitched circle from my stash and die cut that with white card stock and set that aside.  I then cut down a card base to 4" x 8" and then scored one side at 4" to make a top fold note card.  I cut out the Mint Foiled piece to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and glued that onto the base.  I popped up the circle with some fun foam and placed that down towards the bottom right corner.  I then glued my "Ewe" onto the circle. I finished the card off by adding some mirrored confetti/sequins with glossy accents and dotting the Ewe's eyes with my black glaze roll pen.  I took a few photos in different lighting and from different angles to try to show off the foil and that cute Ewe. It was a pretty quick card and if you planned ahead and made a few foil backgrounds you could make a few at a time pretty easily.

Some Bunny Special

Hello everyone,
There is a fabulous new mood board over at SumMore Fun and it is filled with beautiful spring colors and images.  I started with a dark turquoise A2 sized side folding card base and then found an adorable sheet of designer paper with the colors on the mood board that matched perfectly.  I cut the designer paper with a stitched rectangle die in my stash and then popped that up with fun foam onto my card base.  I then took the adorable Victorine Originals stamp "Bunny With Egg" and stamped it with Dark Walnut Ink onto a piece of Kraft card stock.  I colored the bunny with colored pencils in white and cool grays, adding pink to the cheeks, nose and feet. On the tail I colored it in with white pencil then added Ranger Liquid Pearls in White Opal to the top.  I paper pieced the egg with a pretty piece of marbled blue and white paper and then added a coat of Tonic Glitter Gloss Aqua Shimmer pen, this was the first time I have actually paper pieced and I really liked the results, it gave the stamped image some added dimension.  I then fussy cut the bunny, added lots of small pieces of fun foam and popped him up onto the card.  I finished it off by stamping the sentiment "You're Some "Bunny" Special!" onto Kraft card stock with Dark Walnut Ink and then heat embossing with clear embossing powder then placing the sentiment below the bunny.  I am super happy with how it all turned out and hope you will join us at the new challenge.

See you soon!

Springtime Love

Hello everyone,
Today is my day to take over the blog at SumMore Fun and I am ready for Spring, so this card fit the bill perfectly with all this bright, pretty green.  It was also quite simple and would be easy to mass produce.  So let's get started:
I began with a piece of grey card stock I cut to 4" x 8" and scored on one side at 4" to make a square, top folding 4" x 4" card base.  I then set that aside and cut a piece of bright green card stock to 3 1/2" x 3 1/2", then I used a heart die cut from my stash and cut out a heart in the middle of the card stock.  I then pulled out the Victorine Original stamp set, Backgrounds Set (10596-X) and using the small ink blot stamp I stamped the grey card stock using Hero Arts Field Greens mid-tone ink where the heart would show through and then using Versa Mark clear ink I stamped the green card stock with the same stamp set, this gave it a tone on tone look.  I then used my Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen over the stamped area on the grey base where the heart would show through, because who doesn't love some shimmer and glitter, right?  I then pulled out some border scrapbook stickers in my stash and found this fun one in grey, cream and green that went perfect with my card and placed it onto the bottom part of the top layer, after which I took the top layer added fun foam to the back and adhered it to the grey card base. For a final touch I added a few green confetti sequins from my stash.  Hope you enjoyed and I will see you again soon!

Cross of Flowers

Hello everyone,
The new Challenge Mood Board is up at SumMore Fun and it is such a pretty one.  All the greenery reminds me of Spring and new growth.  I used the Victorine Originals Cross of Flowers stamp (2327-H) and stamped it on clear vellum with Versa-mark ink and heat embossed with white fine embossing powder and then heat set.  I cut the cross out and then on the back I used Bright Parrot Green (G19) from Copic and colored it in, doing this gives it a soft almost stained glass effect, then when it was dry I flipped it over and gave it a good coat of Spectrum Noir Glitter Gloss.  I then started to assemble my card.  I used a white A2 sized side folding card base and cut a narrow strip of dark green paper 5 1/2" x 3/4" and glued it next to the fold, I then cut a piece of soft grey card stock to 5 1/2" x 4" and glued that down overlapping the green strip. I then used some vellum tape runner and glued down the cross and ran my two lightest grey Copic markers along the edges to give it some added dimension.  I added a few small green sequins from my stash and that finished off the card.
