Freshly Squeezed Bear Hugs

Greetings,
I made this card a while back and it was sitting in a "safe" place waiting for the perfect reason and person to send it to.  So my Grams recently fell and broke her hip and I thought, well this is the reason and the person to send this card to.  I sure hope when it arrives she loves it.
I used the fabulous Concord & 9th Hugs Bundle and white embossed the citrus slices then gently water colored the background with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I colored the bear with the Zigs as well and then "fussy" cut him and popped him up a bit on the front. I also used the Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops in clear all over the front.  I then placed the white colored panel on a black A2 card base.  On the inside of the card I used the "Consider yourself freshly squeezed" sentiment.  As a note, I generally use a separate piece of note paper and write Grams a letter and then use a small piece of washi to hold it in, that way she can keep the card or re-purpose it if she wants to.  Since I started to make cards she has been my biggest fan and it has been a great way to stay in touch, as California & Iowa are not all that close, sometimes she enjoys sharing them and sending them on and sometimes she keeps them, but no matter what I am happiest if I know I made her smile.  On that note, see you all soon and thanks for checking out my blog!

Happy Birthday Crazy Dog Style

Hello everyone,
My niece had a birthday and I broke out the Tim Holtz Mini Crazy Dogs Stamps and designed this card around the whole idea of just using the cute dogs.  Then I pulled out the MFT Stitched Triple Peek A Boo Windows Die-Namic and some wood grain card stock and the idea became more concrete.  I colored in the dogs with PrismaColor Premier Color Pencils and cut the sentiment out of glitter paper with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Celebration Dies. Overall pretty simple, but really like the end result.

See you all soon!

No Prob-Llama Birthday Card

So we celebrated my youngest son's birthday a few weeks back (he turned 23) and I needed something fun and funny, just like him, so I went to my trusty MFT Llama Love Set.  I took a standard A2 size card base in white and stamped the funny birthday sentiment down below and then cut an arch from the Die-Namics Stitched Arch Stax and blended some distress ink onto it for the background, then stamped out a llama and his pack and some cacti, colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and then die cut them with the matching dies from MFT.  I popped up some elements with foam tape and left some flat for dimension and put the card together.  Pretty simple and yet so fun.
See you soon!
