Let's BEE Friends Forever!

Hello everyone,
It is my day to take over the blog at SumMore Fun and I reached for the absolutely adorable "Wild About Ewe, Honey!" stamp set by Raisin Boat.  I mean this set just could not get any cuter if it tried.  So, I started with a 6 x 6 piece of Recollections card stock from a paper pad entitled Color Splash.  I used the Ombre Yellow and then cut it down to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and cut the Stitched Triple Peek-A-Boo die from MFT from the front, after cutting with the die I then ran the front panel through my Big Shot with the Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades  in the Honeycomb pattern.  I set that aside and worked on my layout and design. I began with the large bee in the stamp set and stamped it out with Black Onyx Ink on the top cut out. For the middle cut out I stamped the remainder of the bee's swirl and then I took the honeycomb image and masked it off and then just stamped out the little bees, for the last cut out I chose to use the sentiment "Let's Bee friends forever"  I adhered the honeycomb piece direct to a top fold A2 sized Kraft card stock base and then I used fun foam on the cut out pieces to pop them up off the panel for added dimension.  I scattered some sequins in three different gold hues around the card and used glossy accents to adhere them and finished it all off by adding some Spectrum Noir Glitter Gloss to the bees.

Our current challenge is still running, so please hop on over and join us.  I have attached links below to the challenge post and the stamps I have used.  See you all soon!

Trouble in a Tutu- Dancing Hippo

Hello everyone,
I absolutely LOVE the dancing, tutu wearing hippos from Clearly Besotted.  Maybe it is because I love Fantasia and the hippos .... but this stamp set and the sentiments are absolutely so much fun!  When I saw that Simon Says Stamp was showcasing products and specifically sentiments for their Wednesday Challenge, I just knew I had to pull out this set.
I started with a pre-made white glitter card base that is 4 3/4 x 7, scored at 3 1/2 for a side folding finished card size of 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.
I then took a stitched circle die and die cut a hole towards the top of the front panel of the card and then took another piece of glitter card stock in a gun metal/ almost black color and cut a circle with the same die, I then closed the card and placed strong adhesive on the back of the dark circle and laid it in the hole so it was on the inside of the card base. That way you can see the element when the card is open or closed. I then took the stamp set and stamped the hippo with black onyx versafine ink on white card stock and colored in the image with my Zig Real Brush markers in green and blue for the ensemble and bow and then grey for the hippo body and beige with a drop of pink for the face.  I then die cut the hippo and a piece of fun foam to place behind her and glued them together and then glued down the hippo to the dark glitter circle.  I then stamped the banner shape and "make a wish" sentiment with black versafine ink and heat set with Tonic Glitter Noir Nuvo Embossing powder.  I die cut the banner and another piece of fun foam and glued them together and added them to the front of the card.  On the inside of the card I stamped the "its your day to twirl" sentiment from the set with black onyx versafine ink.  I added some gumdrop type gems from my crafty stash to the front and my card is complete.
See you all soon!

SumMore Fun/Victorine Originals Blog Challenge #20

Hello everyone,
With the new year upon us and the new mood board I immediately saw birthday cards in my future.  I need more of them and these colors and stamps are perfect for each other.  I started by taking a piece of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" white card stock and stamping the Festively Wrapped Gift (1586-B) in versamark ink then heat embossing with a hot pink embossing powder from my stash.  I then took my Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter pen and using Brilliance Galaxy Gold Ink by Tsukineko I "water colored" the bows on each gift. When those were dry I used my Glitter pen to give some shimmer to the packages.  Then I cut the panel down with a rectangle die and attached it to an A2 sized pink side fold card base.  For the Four Layer Cake I stamped it using the Galaxy Gold Ink and then fussy cut the image as I wanted it to pop off the base layer.  I attached the cake with a piece of fun foam and then using Nuvo Crystal Drops in Morning Dew, which dries clear, I covered the top tier and the third tier of the cake, then using Diamond Stickles I covered the dots on tier two and filled in the circles on tier four. Pictures do not really do it justice, but it is shiny and glimmery and glittery, which is the best kind of birthday card.  Also, the Crystal Drops in a few places did crack, the weather here has gone from hot to cold and that seems to happen only then.

This cake stamp is so fun and quirky and I am having so much fun with it.  Please do come over to the blog and join our challenge, I would love to see your creations.
Until next time.

I love you snow much!

Hello everyone,

Sometimes in a crafter's world there is a product (or products) that we see and have to have.  When those moments arise, I generally like to think on them and then decide to order, but sometimes there is no thinking there is just shopping, this card came about due to amazingly cute products that I HAD to have. So let's see what I made and how it all came together:
I started by using the Lawn Fawn Shadow Box die with craft card stock. I cut two panels and in one of the panels I cut the largest stitched rectangle die in the set for the window and I also cut out the two hills for the inside from the dies also in the Shadow Box Die set out of white card stock.  I then cut a piece of patterned paper from my stash for the background.  I set those pieces aside and worked on my inside scene pieces. I used Woodland Critters, Winter Woodland and Stitched Speech Bubbles all from Pretty Pink Posh.  I stamped out the holly branch, the bunny on the snow covered log and the polar bear onto some white watercolor card stock.  I then colored them in. For all the images I used my Spectrum Noir Glitter Gloss Pen as a water color type pen, I started by laying down some color on my images from my Zig Real Brush Pens and then moving the color with the glitter gloss. It leaves a shimmery effect and the colors move very well this way.  For the bunny and the bear I used a light grey so as to give it some color but to make the critters look more white then an other color and for their ears and cheeks I used a very light pink.  The log and branch were done with two browns and the leaves had one green and the berries one dark red color.  When all the pieces were done I used the matching dies and cut them out with my Big Shot.  I then laid them all down on my craft mat and added some extra touches. For the log I used Frosted Lace Stickles on the "snow" portion and on the hills I used a layer of Clear Rock Candy Stickles.  On the berries I used Nuvo Glitter Crystal Drops in Ruby Slippers and for the eyes and noses of the bunny and bear I sued my black gel pen for some added shine. I then set that all aside to dry and cut out the largest stitched speech bubble in the PPP set from some white card stock, then I laid the cut out inside the negative space and put it all into the MISTI to line up my sentiment stamp and stamped "I love you snow much"  When all the pieces were dry I started to assemble my project and as a finishing touch I added a piece of the same background paper used inside to the back panel.  I used small amounts of fun foam on the branch and critters for some extra dimension, the card still folds pretty flat and fit into an A2 envelope.  I will be sending this to my Grams in Iowa, where they have been having some very cold weather so I felt the sentiment and scene were a perfect fit and who doesn't love cute critters and lots of shimmer and glitter?

See you all soon!

One Layer Happy Birthday in Rainbow Colors

Hello everyone & happy Saturday,

I am taking over the SumMore Fun/ Victorine Originals Blog today and have a quick and fun one layer Happy Birthday card to share.
I started with a folded A2 sized white card and along the bottom I stamped the Festively Wrapped Gift (1586-B) using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Lucky Clover and Broken China.  I then used my Spectrum Noir Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen and drew out a bit of the color on the bows with the glitter and added some Studio Katia Shimmering Crystals in the smallest size on the bow knots .

I stamped the Happy Birthday (2871-H) in Hero Arts Soft Lilac Shadow Ink and finished the card off with adding some lilac colored sequins from my stash around the sentiment.  This card while quick and easy packs a lot of shimmer and that sentiment is just so pretty I feel it should take center stage.

Please feel free to join in on our current challenge, it is a fun one and we would love to see your projects! Links to the challenge and stamps I used are below.

Try Something New - SumMore Fun Challenge #19

For the new challenge at SumMore Fun (Victorine Originals) it is to try something new: a new technique, a new style, new products, so I went all out and did all three.  I pulled out my alcohol inks and some Yupo paper.  I used Wild Plum, Stream, Purple Twilight and Silver Mixative and let the blending solution do the work. It was fun to watch the inks mix and create. I let it dry overnight and the next day I cut down the piece with a die from my craft room, I popped up the piece with fun foam and then die cut the next size up out of black card stock and popped that layer up with more fun foam. I then put all the layers on an A2 sized white card base. I did not want to take away from the beautiful colors and wanted the sentiment to stand out so I stamped the Happy Birthday (2871-H) in versamark ink on clear vellum and then heat embossed with Nuvo Glitter embossing powder in Glitter Noir.

I then used a little vellum tape runner on the corners of the cut down vellum and attached the sentiment to the front of the card. I finished it off with some sequins in different sizes in a royal blue, silver and marshmallow.  This card has lots of color, layers, dimension and different techniques and products that I had so much fun with.  I look forward to seeing what you create and have you join in with us over on the blog.
Until next time.
